Q: Hi Doctor, I recently discovered a lump or mass next to my testicle. Based on some internet research, it appears that it could be a hydrocele or a spermaceti. Is this true? I am 60 and somewhat worried about testicular cancer appearing in older men. If it is either of the above, what is the remedy? It is painful if it gets in the way. Finally, could either of the above be caused by the use of a cock ring? Thanks in advance. Rob
Rx: Hi Rob! A spermatocele, hydrocele, or varicocele would be a nuisance but not dangerous per se. I don't think a cock ring would be a good idea with any of the above..especially a varicocele...probably worsen the condition. Cancer would need to be evaluated with an ultrasound. I'd check in with your doc for some confirmation. Good luck!
